is their any relationship between the food the lizard eats and the way they act because he seemed fine when I got him but now he is becoming a terror since he is eating like a pig. I feed him crickets everyday. Last night I picked him up and he proceded to hiss at me open his mouth and then peeeeeeeed on my I hope this doesn't last forever

Not getting worse acting normal. You monitor is acting like a monitor should. This is normal behavior. As a matter of fact expect to get bit. When kept at the right tempratures and are fed properly monitor will go through many mood swings, shall I say. Don't ever think that you monitor is tame. Sooner or later it'll prove it's not.
But in answer to you post, let your monitor come to you. Don't reach in and grab it. You scaring it so in turn it's hissing and opening it's mouth at you. These are defensice tactics and expect more of them. Leave it alone and let it decide when it wants you to hanlde it.

Thanks for the advice but I hope he gets to that point where he trust me cause I would hate for him to live the rest of his life as if I'm trying to eat him
