Do Beardies Shed Skin In Their Nose???? HELP!!!!!

khandof Nov 24, 2003 05:06 PM

My beardie has what looks like shedding skin coming out of her nostral's. It's coming out of both nostral's like wiskers. Is this common or is it some thing I should worry about. Should I rush her to the vet immediately? I could really use some help because I'm really worried. Thanx in advance.

Yes, it's the skin inside their nostrils.

Do I let them fall off naturally or do can I pull them out? Are they going to effect her breathing?

hey,

there completely normal they occur every time a beardie shed(there the shed of the skin from the inside of the nostral)...naways i usually carefully take a pair of tweezers and pull them out (they look like long buggers...lol) but i guess they will come out naturally if u want...the beardies seem to like them gone lol

They will come out themselves when they're ready. Please don't try to help by pulling them out. This may actually hurt the beardie, and why risk that when there's no need to?

One simple rule is that you should never try to help your beardie shed by pulling off loose skin or anything like that. The only thing you should do to help is misting/spraying/bathing them. The water helps loosen the skin.
