I saw where you decided to let that beautiful black rat snake go.
COOL.
Thought I might mention this, though.
Dwight Good has a web site on Obsoletas.
Part of this deals with locale specific rat snakes.
I would be willing to bet he would love a couple of pictures of that snake along with county and state to add to his site.
