Is my PTS pregnate?-overhead pic

smoke Nov 24, 2003 07:52 PM

Here is a shot of my PTS from above. Does it look pregnate or could it just be fat? I've had it since Sept 03 w/c from Extreme reptiles. It eats pothos, bananna, kiwi, romain and a few other things but only every other day and doesn't pig out like some of my BTS do. Any ideas? Thanks, Mike

it does crap some big healthy ones, so I don't believe its constipated if anyone thought it might just be heavy with that. I did till it started going regularly.

She actually looks a bit on the thin side to me from this one photo, I can see her spine and hips well and the abdomen behind where her ribs end looks a little tucked in. She does not look heavily gravid, but some PTS hide it very well.

Here is a photo of a slender PTS, who was about 4-5 months gravid at the time for comparison- she still had a few months to go. Both of the females here get pretty rotund when they are gravid- very pear shaped. Appetite goes down, and feces size goes down as there is little room for food as the baby gets large.
cheers, jess b

You are probably right. I was just hoping maybe it was a pregnat female as I thought it looks heavy for a recient w/c PTS. But the poop is large and it eats pretty good such as a 4" potted pothos every 3rd day with other foods listed above. Thanks, Mike.

Hey Mike, I would venture to say that you have a very healthy female MTS but not a gravid one!! She is an awesome specimen, you should look into getting her a male MTS to hang out with, she looks like she would have some pretty sweet looking babies. Good luck with her!!!!!!!!!!
