Is it true? Do I really have a tangerine scarlet?
Please post any comments, it would be appreciated. Thanks
I don't see it, the picture didn't work...

I see it and it's gorgeous!
the pic doesn't open for me, either. if i go to the source code it looks like the html language for img src isn't closed after the url.
I can copy the image filename, paste it into my browser's url address line, and see the photo. That seemed to confirm it was just a coding problem in the original post.
BUT if i paste the same url, copied from smokey's source code, into the "image url" line in a kingsnake post (I tried to post it here so people could see it) it doesn't seem to open either (using preview function of the kingsnake software).
seems contradictory. anybody got an explanation for that? and how come one of you was able to see it and two of us weren't? odd... I'm always itnerested in learning more, so if anyone comes up with an explanation, please share it.

You can't see it because it blinded you with its brilliance!
thanks, took me awhile to find her, but was well worth it. she is now feeding steadily on frozen 5 day old pinks!!
>>You can't see it because it blinded you with its brilliance!
who said that? where's that voice coming from? what?
I think I can kind of explain it...
Some websites don't allow pictures to be accessed via a web page (link KS) because it creates a lot of hits on their servers, causing overloads, etc. That's why most of the photo-servers no longer allow it. When you are pasting directly into the URL address though, you aren't accessing it via a web page, you're going there directly. After that the photo is cached by your browser, so if you go back to the KS forum post you'll see the pic.
I think you're right... we must have been typing our posts at the same time!

Hello,
I 've seen this before with images hosted on a Geocities web server, and it has to do with the way the server is set up. When a web server receives an HTTP request, part of the information encoded in that request is the location of the referring URL. Web servers can be configured to block requests that come from outside sources. So, if you try to load the image http://www.geocities.com/diddy_213/tangarinescarlet.JPG, and the referring URL is from http://forums.kingsnake.com/, the Geocities server won't let you load the image. The idea is that if you can't link images on external sources, you have to go to the person's actual Geocities website, and be exposed to whatever banners or pop-up ads they want to force upon you. There are probably also bandwidth/security considerations, but I suspect forcing you to see the ads is the main reason. Most free web hosting services do this, because ads are the main way that they can make money. If you manually load the image URL from the HTML source code, then view the original post again, the image will appear because it's been saved in your web browser's cache.

Now that would look sweet as a hypo!
It is caused by some missing components in your operating system and/or corrupted files. Some viewers like myself can see the picture perfectly. Others cannot view due to code that the computer cannot translate because of missing files on your system. If it was due to a server overload problem noone would be able to view it.

it isn't a rare color phase, IME. In fact, there is picture of another at the top of this forum.

...pics at www.crimsonking.funtigo.com and when you go to the links at the bottom of the first page.. Anyway, there is a great amount of variability of the shades of yellow/orange or whatever. I had a male that has recently died after 10 yrs. and he was very "tangerine".
