Whats the deal the introducing of the 2 females didn't go as planned. kinda long... questions

CCappy175598 Nov 24, 2003 09:09 PM

I posted before asking if it would be ok to keep my 2 females of slight different sizes together without a problem or food competition and stuff. So I go and do it and the slightly larger normal trys to bite my smaller albino. No tail shaking or anything. She stood high on her legs to make herself look bigger. I quickly seperated them and even got bit myself stupid, grr. So anyway should I keep trying or is this idea destined for failure, it would be much easier to keep them together as far as cleaning and feeding goes, plus I need the tank the albino is in for someone else!

Do you think my larger female can be one of those high temp females? She never had a problem being kept with the other female I had her with or the male I put her with for a few minutes to see how they would react.

Shes been kept by herself for about 2 months, could this have something to do with it. Silly buggers got me all worked up doh.

Try rearanging everything in the enclosure, then put the smaller female in and introduce the larger female. Worked great for me, and I had a greater size difference.

I have 3 in a 20 gal long tank. What I did was put them on my bed the littlest one 1st (she 60 grams) and then put the other two on there (they are between 75-80grams) and let them meet there on nutral territory. Then I cleaned out their tank and rearranged the stuff so they all went into a new enviroment. I put the smallest in 1st though so she had a upper hand on them. So far everythinghas been great and no problems at all. Its been like this for a 3-4 months now
