Jak is doing great, but seems to have a wierd habit

chikimonke Nov 24, 2003 10:14 PM

He's now letting me hold him. I'll put my hand in his tank and he'll climb right on and proceed to explore my hands and arms thoroughly (sp?) he likes to climb my hands, ie, climbs one, i bring the other one up and he climbs that one and so on, he'll do it for 5 minutes at a time. He never seems freaked or stressed, his breathing is normal, and like I said he climbs on his self, I don't pick him up. The odd habit that I've noticed is that once I put him back in the tank, he'll go and stand in one pose for 5 or so minutes at a time. What is he doing? Was he actually freaked out by me holding him and is literaly scared stiff, or is he just being wierd? This wouldn't be his first wierd habit =)

I think it's perfectly normal though! (She does the thing where she'll sit there for a while) Probably means he's comfy with being so exposed if he sits out in the open and he's probably basking a little. Take care!

Being comfortable makes sense, but I'm going to have to disagree with the basking =) He does this at night when there's no lights =) and usually on the cool side of the tank. But anyways, guess Jak isn't as wierd as I thought he was. Heck, even if I put my hand in there, right next to him when he's doing that, and I mean right in front of his face, he doesn't even flinch. Guess he's gotten a bit more comfy with me. Happy days for me =)

That sounds great! I only figured he may be basking, because that's how it goes at my place, but everyone is different. I'm happy Jak is comfy with you!

When I put my Leo back she either tries to climb up the glass to the door of the lid or her tank OR she'll try to dig a hole to the bottom... I think my leo wants to get out :P
