Horned Lizards - Anyone had Success Using Pinkies and Crickets as Food Source ? *Pics*

We've collected these guys over the years, but never kept them due to the ant supply factor. This one though has taken down everything from Crickets, to believe it or not, pinkies. We've had it over a month and it has gained weight and shows no signs of declining health..

:Keep monitoring. It will be interesting to see what the short and long term results are. Is the a typical behavior (eating pinkies) or just a one time occurance? How long have you the had the DHL? Lester G. Milroy III

I have had my Pacific Horned lizard eat a baby sclepouous many years ago. Being oppertunistic I would say that this may happen on occasion but a diet with this kind of protien would probably be a detrement. we have thousands of man hours evaluating scat from horned lizards, and claws and bones are not the standard fair for these guys. I think Lester hit it the head, I would be curious as to a long term diet of either crickets or pinkie would effect your hl. Thanks!
