Unusual Dumeril question

Ryan Shackleton Nov 25, 2003 12:17 AM

I've had my female Dum for about 2 years now, and (thankfully) to this day she will not eat live food. The reason I know this is I tried every type of live, freshkilled or thawed food I could get for the first 7 months before she finally did start eating. That whole time, if I offered something to her alive, she bit it(defensive strikes) in the head until it died, then left it until I removed it. A couple times, I left it overnight with no result. Now she's one of the most aggressive feeders I've seen, still only on dead(large rats by now). Just wondering if anyone's ever heard of a snake refusing live. I'm not complaining in the least, just thought it was strange.
