Palapo retics are a northern Sulawesi locale, it has been said there temperment is a bit better but there size is still just tremendous. Selayar is an island located just south of sulawesi, animals from the island are known as P. reticulatus Saputrai. They are closly related still to the Sulawesi animals, and are said to get both there looks and temperment from them, The potential size of these animals seem to be much smaller than that of there northern cousins. With 13' being the recorded largest animals, I would bet that like most locales it will be possible to break the record.

So, selayar would be the second smaller retic after bali? Selayar is it a semidwarf retic in this case?
I have a 8 feet (only) female selayar at 2.5/3 years old. Very smaller than other localities... And she's tame like a dog! I love it!

My male is 10 1/2ft at 6yrs old and came to me pretty skinny. The owner said he fed him less so that he stayed smaller. He should be atleast another 3ft. I've seen a 16ft pair of bali's and heard of a 20ft female. You be the judge,
John
Ok, but I would like to know about selayar...
She is very beautiful.
