My pacmans been doin ok but i have a continouse problem with little white winged bugs. His substrate is a jungle mix, I am using a heat pad and a light when i need it. The temp is always around 72. Also he sometimes gets really dark and breathes hard. Am i worring to much? I have little experience with Pacmans becouse it is my first time with this kind of frog. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I feel your pain. I now have fruitflies in most of my frog tanks, thanks to my boyfriend leaving an old vase of flowers in the kitchen too long(of course, this was not my fault, lol.)The vase became a breeding ground for fruitflies by the boatload.

I just have learned to deal with them. They are so annoying, and the only temporary fix short of cleaning out every tank, seems to be pouring Hot water on the substrate while removing the frog for a few hours til it cools off. This is only temporary, of course, and more flies return in a few days. I even have the cursed things living in my fish tanks! I hope someone else has a better way to kill them off.

Keep it a little drier in the tank and you can try to put fly paper around the tanks. Personally, I just let them go. They are just gnats and they really don't hurt anything. Basically they are attracted to the moist, humid tank so in theory keeping it a little drier will help the problem, though I am positive it won't cure it alone. Andy

I put fly papaer all around the outside of the tank. Too bad my pac man is too lazy and incapable of jumping and eating them, it'd be quite a sight.

Im surprised no one has mentioned this, but if im not completely mistaken a pacmans temperature is supposed to be 78-82 degrees...

Not a solution to the fruitflys, but something to keep in mind about your frog.
