whites tree frog help

jerseyboy Nov 25, 2003 11:51 AM

I just set up a 20 gallon tall for my new wtf. I have never had one before and just had a couple questions. I am using Fluker's all natural moss for the cage bottom. Is this ok? I was also wondering if an overhead lamp heatrer or an undertank heater would be better. I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

I think most the people here are going to tell you overhead lamp instead of UTH... Whites spend most of their time hanging out in their climbs or in the corner of the tank sleeping during the day.

I have a heat pad stuck to the side of the warm side of their tank to add some additional warmth in the cooler months but really putting it under the tank will not benifit them very much.

Good call Sarah99. Also ditch the moss and use a suitable substrate, such as BedaBeast, Ecoearth, or some other ground coconut soil-like substrate. Steer clear of moss which holds too much moisture and is a breeding ground for bacteria and could also cause problems if ingested. Also even when using the correct substrate still be on the lookout for large clumps or slivers of wood. Remove anything solid and break up clumps.

There are two types of people in this world, good and bad. The good sleep better, but the bad seem to enjoy the waking hours much more.
