thinking about a red tail

i have several other snakes corn snakes, ball pythons and a pair of dumerils. i have the opportunity to get a red tail (its my brothers friends snake his landlord is throwing a fit over the sanke and wants it gone by the end of the month) hes and 5' right now feeding readily on f/t rats and not aggressive when held i have never really though about owing a redtail and have been reading up on them but just looking for the pro and cons from people who own them and what drawback there are and all that good stuff any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

Frankly, i think that if the snake is healty and feeding, there are no real draw backs to owning a Red Tail Boa, except maybe size if you have local ordinances. This snake can reach 8' easily. But if that is not a problem, then take it and be sure to isolate it in quaranteen for at least 3 weeks, just for safety sake for your other reptiles. My first boa was a rescue Red Tail and he was a sweetheart. Good Luck...susan
