WTFs always in water bowl...

iamkylemcandrews Nov 25, 2003 05:36 PM

Ok well yesterday I noticed one of my WTFs was in the water bowl almost the entire day, and he wasnt sitting on the side but kind of floating in there with just enough of his head above water to breath (his nostrils were not submerged), he ate and everything. Today he is out of the water bowl and back to his normal self. BUT my other WTF is doing the EXACT same thing today... He has been in the water bowl all day... The colors of the frogs are much darker than their bright green usual color when they are in the water...

Frogs are eating but not doing much else other than sleep in water bowl....

Should I be worried or am I just over reacting...?

Is this a sign of any possible disease etc?

Thanks,
Kyle

How deep is your water bowl? it shouldnt be any deeper than covering thie legs when they sit in it. if it is any deeper make sure they can very easily get out, because they have been known to drown and are not good swimmers

The depth of the water bowl is not an issue he can easily get out if he wishes, I took him out and put him at his favorite resting spot, but he went right back down into the water bowl...

What is the humidity in the tank at the moment? If your humidity is fine and they are still eating, I wouldnt worry, some Whites just enjoy long soaks at times.

There are two types of people in this world, good and bad. The good sleep better, but the bad seem to enjoy the waking hours much more.

I think that may be the problem, I really need to get a humidity indicator, as for now I secured saran wrap over a little more than half of the top of the tank to ensure that humidity does not escape as easily and I will make sure to keep up on my mistings....

Thanks,
Kyle

P.S. I will get a humidity indicator ASAP...
