Has anyone tried the new cricket jelly designed to be a water source? How good is it? Does anyone have a make-it-yourself recipie for it?
Thanks

I take a soapless (obviously) scrunge pad (like the scotch brite things)cut it to fit snuggly inside a jar lid and spray it with water every day. Water source without drowning hazard....once a week or so you run really hot water through it and bang out the yuck. Last quite a while and replacing it is easy.

I've tried the cubes. They just dry up in a day or so and look really gross. Also tried those chicken waterers, but those get to smelling really bad if you don't change them every day. Now I just take a paper towel, fold it in half a couple of times, and spray it with water and leave it on the floor of their container. I repray it every day or so, and replace it with a new one every 2-3 days. Cuts down on the stink a little too.

There is a way you can make that stuff yourself, but the name of the stuff you use to make it is lost somewhere in my head.

I've used it, and it does seem to work well. It is a bit pricey.

I think that you could probably make your own using ordinary gelatin.
