Breeding Mangrove Snakes

LolaLynn Nov 25, 2003 10:23 PM

I recently have seen breeding activity between my florida mangrove water snakes. But I cannot find out any information on how to tell if my famale is pregant or even if they can breed. They are two different colors. one I bought one and know it is a mangrove snake the other was given to be by a friend and I was told it is a mangrove snake. Any help would be appriciated.
Thank You

I thought you were talking Southeast Asian mangrove snakes!
Telling if a female is gravid can be tough, she'll just get fatter. Even if they're two different species they might be able to interbreed, so it's possible she's full of little hybrids.
Other than that I don't know anything about water snakes...

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
