i thought i would save myself some time and pick up some shelf liner at target last week... and to my dismay..when my beardies poo it leaves a stain.. anyone else experience this???? i have been using vinyl (from a fabric store) for a lil close to a year and it doesn't stain and you get a lot more for your money. the only thing i thought was great about the liner i picked up was that it had a gripping back .. so the liner laid nice and flat... am i buying the wrong liner???? i think i'll just stick with the vinyl...

It does sound like you have the right kind when you described the backing of it. What exact brand? I had this happen once or twice but it came off when I soaked them at the end of the week. It could be the brand you bought cause this has happened once or twice in the last year I've used them, and I switch between a few brands all with a slightly different texture on top. The time the poop has to sit on the liner too can cause staining. I work most of the time from home so the dragons very rarely go long periods with a dirty cage. Could also be the foods the beardie eats pellets of course have the food coloring and veggies and dark green leafs has the chlorophyll which I think is more likely to stain. Kinda like a grass stain. The liner does not work for everybody, but for those it does it works out well, and for the most part with out any problems. The concept is there if you can find a better fabric or liner go for it.

I've also heard of people using baby wipes to wipe up the poo. That might help with the staining a bit.
