Radiant Heat Panels VS Flex Watt Heat Tape

I was reading some archived posts and was wondering what some of the other members in this forum prefer, and why? Other methods are also welcome.

I use radiant heat panels because my cages are in a normal room temperature environment and I need to warm the air in the cage as well as create a basking site. However, if I had a specially heated herp room I would probably go with flex-watt or some other UTH.
