Feeding Sulcata Aloe

MonkeyLove Nov 26, 2003 08:19 AM

I found a link to this website in one of the wild mustard posts from November 13th. According to the site, Aloe Vera is a "Native food source for Arican species." I was wondering if anyone has offered their sulcata Aloe or kept Aloe in their enclosure and noticed them eating it. Thanks.

I have yet to meet a tortoise that did not love aloe. My sulcatas used to love it and my Galapagos would use my head as a stepping stone to get at some. My cyclura iguanas also eat it if I chop it up for them. It seems to have a slight laxative effect and I fed it to a tort once that was a little constipated from pelleted tortoise chow and had some success make him poop easier.
I feed spines and all.
