Columbus Ohio show

fireresq42 Nov 26, 2003 10:38 AM

Is any one going to the Ohio show this weekend or has anyone been to that show that could tell me what it is like? I will be in Ohio this weekend and was planning on going and wanted to know if it is worth it...

Thanks,
A.

They usually have some fun stuff. Usually some cool ball morphs (some worth more than my car) and other rare stuff. Get there early if you can, though! The good stuff goes quick. I'll be there 9 am sharp!
Oh yeah... if you're claustrophobic you may want to skip it... The building is a tad small for the volume of people that show up. But shoving matches don't break out too often.

I guess you live in the area.. Is there any fun pet shops or breeders around to see? How about the Columbus zoo? what is the reptile house like? worth seeing?

There's one reptile shop in town but it's just sort of depressing. Don Hamper lives in Lewis Center and runs the Ohio show, so you can see his stuff there. The zoo has a nice selection of pit vipers and cobras, 2 BIG burms, and a rare water monitor. They also have a Mexican giant musk turtle and some tentacled snakes, which I think is exciting. There's a nice amphibian exhibit in the 'old' aquarium builing. Also, they have roasted nuts and a skating rink. The downside is that they discourage the keeping of reptiles as pets. What hypocrites!
Columbus isn't a big reptile town . So we're lucky just to have the show!
