You have to find a vet that specializes in exotics, at least that is how it is where I live, there is only one vet that will see reptiles. It cost me 15 dollars for a fecal check, but I didn't have to bring the dragon in. They don't get treated with antibiotics for parasites, they get parasite medicine. I have never had a animal test positive so i don't know how much the medicine costs.

Just check in the phonebook for the vets in your area, some may have ads stating if they are exotic, reptile etc. vets. Give them a call and ask, the receptionist should be able to give you a good estimate on the cost of fecal examines, etc.

Cost me 45$ because I had to bring him in. Then they trimmed his toenails without asking permission. Grr...

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?

umm you can just all a vet and ask them if they specialize in reptiles. At my vet a fecal costs 18 dollars you don't have to bring the dragon in.. and for parasites they don't use antiboitics i forget what they use i think it was something with a P my dragon had pin worms like 2 months ago but anyway it only cost like 7 or 8 bucks for a treatment of it

You might be able to find a recommended vet in your area by going to www.herpvetconnection.com and clicking on your state. If someone had a good experiance with a vet they recommend them on that site. You could also look in the phone book for an exotic vet and if you find a good one you can recommend them on herpvetconnection for others to use and find easily.

I wouldn't think a fecal would cost more than $20. Just look in the phone book, or ask any friends who they use. When you call, they should give you instructions, and a price. Hope this helps.

To find a vet, I'd ask a regular vet to reccomend one who does herps.

A fecal runs me $13.50, a full checkup is $50, (I just get one checkup for an animal so they're registered in the system. They really can't tell much, mine just looks at obvious physical things, records weight, etc.) and meds are cheap. At least for my small guy. That's mainly because they don't need alot. Ran me $7.50 for a 3-day treatment of Panacur (1ml/day), so I'd really just get a fecal done.
