At least one reason to like Petsmart

I was having a chat today with a Petsmart manager while picking out a new submersible heater. I mentioned how I had bought my second Fluval 404 from them online instead of at the store because the online price was much less. And then a few days later I discovered Big Al's online where they are even cheaper. The manager informed me that Petsmarts do pricematch, and that if you brought in the print out with the price from an online store they would match it.

So, you could get the more expensive equipment items at Big Al's consistently lower prices, and on top of that, if you have Petsmart match it, not have to pay for shipping either.

No, I don't work for either place! I'm a teacher and just thought I'd pass along another way to buy the equipment you need in a budget-minded way. Hope this helps!

Three months ago, I bought an air pump from them. It recently started making noise. I called to ask if they would back the warranty at the store or if I had to conact the manufacturer. They told me to bring it down and swap it for a new one.

Petsmart has been very helpful for me when I was setting up my tank. The people in the fish department weren't really much help in the basking area advice, but they were really good when it came to helping me with a filter. Advised me to get a filter for twice the capacity of the tank which I thought was stupid at first but after having a turtle for a few months I now know was good advice. Also, regarding water heater. Really recommended that I have something better then I picked out because the turtle will knock it over and possibly break it. I AM getting a better heater when my turtle gets bigger, but right now he's so small that it doesn't even shift. My turtle likes to lean between the heater and the filter intake.

I have to agree with all of you on this one!!! I have gone to several Petsmarts around my house, and they have been very helpful. Also I was looking at their tortises they had, and informed them they needed the UVB light and explained what it was for. Before I left the store, the manager ran to the shelf, grabbed the items they needed and set it up. I do give them a lot of respect for the care of their animals. At least the stores by me.
