Thawing and Re-Freeing feeders

genaroleon Nov 26, 2003 03:16 PM

my family somehow managed to ruing my stock of feeders for the third time...

First time Freezer was unplugged
Second time freezer was again unplugged (GGGRRRRRR)
third time fuse flipped an no power to freezer...

I order more feeders and ending up purchasing too many - as in my freezer is too small.

The larger rodents are packed in the ziplock bags and are very bulky...

How bad is it to un-thaw the rodends to where they are soft enough to "flatten" and be put into a more space saving positing only to be re-frozen again... I really dont want to toss out such a huge number of feeders

You can not refreeze rats once they are thawed out. The decomposition of the rats has all ready started.

Take care,
Tom

I refreeze feeders all the time.. as long as you only do it once you should be fairly fine. My boa has never had any ill effects.. nor has my Savannah Monitor I feed with the same methods.
