New Retic Morph ***PICS***

nerd_inc Nov 26, 2003 05:14 PM

Meet the "Golden Child" (as he's affectionately known around the shop), a new male that we recently received. He's a WC animal, but despite a nose rub came to us in excellent condition. After acclimation, we're hoping he has a fruitful and productive love life, as we can't wait to determine the genetics behind this particular trait.

Here are pics of another new animal we recently acquired. She's already laid eggs & is assumed to be a "dwarf" of some sort...as far as we're concerned she's a very pretty retic, so we'll see what the future hold for her as well.

Enjoy!

That's a great-looking dwarf. What's her length?

Assuming (and hoping like crazy) that the first snake pictured, "Golden Child," turns out to be genetic (and with a severe pattern abberancy like that the odds are likely), can you just imagine what it would look like in albino form? Do you think the side coloration could be considered background coloration? So maybe if you bred him out and ended up getting albinos, you could possibly get a snake with only light orange and yellow patterning on top and possibly completely white, lavendar, or purple sides....man, makes me drool just thinking about it. Or even if the side coloration didn't combine with the albino colors to be background coloration or whatever, you'd still end up with a probably stunningly almost solid yellow/orange retic with slight darker patterning on top. Geez...okay, done with the dream fest. Anyway, best of luck to you on that one (and everything else of course!).

Neat snakes. Particularly the female here. Awesome coloration and pattern, and if she truly is a "dwarf" of sorts,. you have got the next "thing to have". I can't wait to see what the babies will look like as babies are often much prettier than the parents. And I wonder what an albino version of the male here would look like. That would have to be interesting too. Are you going to sacrifice an albino female or two to him this season?
