Water bottle

khalliaar Nov 26, 2003 06:40 PM

I recently switched my mice over to a water bottle because they kept throwing paper and bedding into the dish. I dont believe they have ever drank out of one and I was wondering if they would be able to figure it out easily? Should I put a dish of water in for a while every day just to be sure that they are getting water? thanks a lot.

I think they will figure it out on their own. You can jiggle the bead or squeeze the bottle just enough to get a drop of water hanging off the spout. The mice would lick at the drop and should figure out how to drink regularly from it. You could sit near where you keep the mice bins and see if they start drinking from the bottle after a few minutes. Or just listen for the rattle they will make when drinking.
