Silkworms acting odd...

SaveFerris Nov 26, 2003 06:52 PM

Ok just got my silkworms and i made the chow and sliced it up for them (theyre med size about 1 inch each) and quite a few of them arent eating...!? They are kind of standing up with thier heads in the air not moving.

Is this normal behavior?

about half of them are chowing down the others arent.

They should be fine. Try shredding the chow over the top of them. It works good and you don't waste as much..

Since you just received the silkworms, it is possible some are not hungry. Most supplies of silkworms pack them with chow or mulberry leaves to tie them over during shipping.
