winterizing the sulcata cottage...

his three towels help keep the basking area hot and also
he sleeps behind them in the corner at night. Small air space
heater mounted on wall and screen holding 3 lamp domes (1 mercury)
and a ceramic heating element on a thermostat. All lights are
on a timer. Ceramic heater is on a seperate breaker in the panel
box (in case one breaker blows there's a second heat source)
and heater is on a seperate breaker. Substrate is Life mate
100 % natural hemp. behind the towels. Floor and walls 2 ft.
high are melamine for easy cleaning (I swiffer wet the floor
if needed)

doubled and cut into 4 inch strips on a rod outside just high
enough so that then hang freely and allow rain to drip mostly
off outside of the window sill. Strips are alternating/overlapping
each other. I'm trying to give him access to the outside as
much as possible unless it's very nasty outside, was 70 today
but I know worse is coming. Unless it's rainingAND cold he
can go out. Sunny and cold (above 50) is OK.
