Well my knight anole loves superworms and well I ordered 1000 figuring that I’ll give breeding a quick try. Don't worry; I give him crickets too (when he'll eat them).
Anyway I was poking around the net finding info on breeding them.
I've been using the "Cricket Water" or "Easy Water" as the worms' water supply instead of potatoes that go bad too easily. I keep the "water" on a large lid and check it daily to be sure the superworms aren’t taking the lid under all the wheat/oat bran. I'll try putting some chicken laying mash in there once i manage to drag my ass over to a feed store, none within about 20mi from me. They seem to be doing fine and none seem to be dying or anything.
My question is, if i isolate the biggest superworms that i can find into film canisters, or in my case a fishing lure box with holes in the top, do i need to drop in any "water" for them? i gave them a small amount of food. But have no idea if i should give them water? What is your experience? None of the sites I’ve read say anything about water when isolating the worms for pupating/breeding. Hopefully I’ll end up with enough beetles. I've read that the beetles don't need water but correct me if I’m wrong.
