MY DRAGON STILL WON'T EAT!!!

kurt18 Nov 27, 2003 10:50 PM

I've had the little guy since Tuesday and he still hasn't eaten. Is there something i can give him to make him hungry? I havent tried to give him any silk worms yet because i dont want him to be spoiled until he eats his vegtables. Any special tips anyone has for me. It's driving me crazy!

Babies need crix/worms much more then they need greens. Greens supply some vitamins and moisture, but crix/worms supply the protein that they grow on.

Not all babies are fond of greens. IMO, they eventually eat them. It may just not be in your time frame. I had one that wouldn't eat them until he was around 5-6 mo. old. I worried so much over it (he was my first beardie, like he was going to get sick if he didn't eat them. They don't.

Now, I just keep offering daily. Seven beardies later, I've learned that eventually, they all eat them.

Have you tried a little shredded carrot or pellets for color?

I have been using pellets but have not been using carrots. I will have to try that. I didn't know that proteins are more important at this point and will try silk worm ASAP. Thanks alot for the advice

Like I've said before...I've got your BD's littermate and he has yet to eat any of his greens. He just wants to eat his silkworms and pellets. From what I understand, a lot of BD's won't show interst in greens until 4 or 5 months old.
