ok i know this off topic, but i am posting it any way......
yesterday, wednesday, november 26, 2003
i had to put calvin down due to insuloma, he had surgery but did not do well a few weeks afterwards, the pic he had the surgery three months before i took the picture, he seemed to be doing well, then everything dropped from there. he was a special ferret, i took him in to my home to rehome him, when he came to live with me he bit, his hair would break at the touch, he was very unfriendly...... after being here for 2 years, i found a home, they took calvin to his new home, the next morning they called and said he was biting and drawing blood, could i please take him back, they brought him back the next night, sat the kennel on my floor, i went to open it and get him out, i was told be careful he bites, calvin jumped out of the container in my arms, got to my face and started giving me kisses, he had never done that before, they asked what i was going to do about him getting a home...i replied "he just found his permenant home" and returned him to the cage with the rest of my group.
sorry about this being long and off topic but just wanted to share that, in sort of a respect for calvin

I can understand 110% where you are right now fella,
I had my black flat coated retriever put down earlier this year.
He ws only 8 and we had to have him put down as he got a cancer which slowly got bigger and could not be removed as it was on his chest.

It ripped me to pieces. and still does when i think about it, But i know that he had a cracking life, Like it sounds as though your ferret did once he was in your care.

The best thing I can advise mate.Think about the good times,
He could have been a hell of a lot worst off than when he was with you, and not much if any better off.

RIP fella,.and get back in the saddle mate and get another one, Not to replace him, but so that you can give another one a fantastic life like you did with this one.

Looks like Brittney to me in that picture...LOL. Glad he's welcome back home. I'll be honest though. When he went straight for my face, I'd have been a bit hesistant to kiss back

Hes happy running around with all the other healthy happy ferrets, I feel your pain also , as when one of my furry, or feathery or scaley, friends, is ready to leave, I'm a mess, always been that way.

Usually I can get away with appearing tough, and full of giggles, but when I'm holding a little sick friend, I start to crumble.

As Funky said though, you gave him a great life and home while he was here, so keep the happier times in mind. Be cool, Eve
