muah - Tanisha and Tyrone pics!

sotik Nov 28, 2003 03:49 AM

So, Tanisha shed earlier this week. Since then she's been spending all her time in the hide on the cold side of the tank. I was in there doing gecko-stuff tonight, and she came out and loked up at me, like she often does, and I stuck my hand down and laid it flat. She knows what that means - she scurries over to my hand and crawls up on it so I can lift her out. I put her on my shirt, so I can finish and she crawls up onto the back of my neck and lays flat...brrr, cold. I sit down at my pc...she was on my neck for 40 mins, just lying there (soakin' up the heat - ladies, I'm hot-blooded; justan FYI). Then I realize it's the perfect opportunity to take pics, and proceed to do so.

Sticking a camera up in her face made her move around a bit, and finally she climbs down my shirt to explore my lap. So, the following are some pics of her - some on my neck (excuse my hair, it needs a trim) and some in my lap.

Then I put her back in the tank because she'd been out well over 60 minutes. Also, by this time Tyrone had ben climbing around the tank and staring at us from the tank (which is only, like, 10 feet away). I figured I'd give him the opportunity. Except Tanisha kept trying to climb back in the hand I had out for Tyrone. Tyrone took his sweet time deciding...he'd put one paw on my hand, pause for a couple second, then back off, and keep repeating that process - I dunno if he has to nerve himself up for physical contact, but finally I got him on my hand by moving it when he had his weight on it, forcing him to put all of his body in the the hand.

He is a lot less cooperative when being held, though. He doesn't stop moving, and the instant I sat on the couch he took off. Across the couch, across the monitor stand, etc. Always looking for somewhere else to go. He likes his freedom, but not being handled (compared to Tanisha who seems to want both). Anyway, I snapped a few pics of him...they were a lot more difficult to get. lol

That's all I've got for now.

Tanisha is a people-gecko (and such a cutie). If geckos have personality, she's got a lot. lol Tyrone is cool in his own way - and I like his markings better - but he's real stand-offish. Aren't they adorable, though?? :D

Tanisha and Tyrone are both beautiful geckos. I like Tyrone's head pattern, some actual leopard like markings there, but Tanisha's head shots are great. Tanisha looks like a sweet gecko! She has that leopard gecko smile. Somehow they look more wise than silly to me.

Nice shots of both, they're obviously well fed and look very healthy. Deep body color on both of them too.

^.^

I'm sure if Tyrone could be made to sit still he'd come out with some good head shots. lol It wouldn't surprise me if they were wise, either - my cat's smarter than I am, so the geckos would just be continuing that tradition. ;p

Glad you liked the shots.
