Cork-bark just died today, had white lumps INSIDE

travisdank Nov 28, 2003 10:57 AM

Had a female, long-term captive(6months ),doing great, feeding on crikets......

anyway she just died last night. Looked alittle sluggish yesterday but thats about all i noticed.

When i found her, down by her back legs the skin on her back was BLACK compared to the rest and looked kinda "wet".

I disected her and found 2large white lumps along with 2 other smaller white lumps. They werent hard like eggs would be and were all really miss shapend.

Anyone seen this before. Could they be deformed eggs due to not powdering the crikets with calcium.

Well first off, 6 months doesn't really constitute LTC, but that's not terribly important. The white lumps likely were eggs. Most hard shell gecko eggs are laid soft and only harden after exposure to air. Chances are, the larger ones were about to be deposited and the smaller ones were the next clutch in line.
