I have never kept S.tergeminus tergeminus but I have kept S.t edwardsi. I have a friend in Texas with the nominate form and care seems much the same so here goes. They are about as easy as to keep and breed as you could ask for. It's up to you how technical you want to get about their keeping. They do fine with a very simple setup(hide box/ water dish/substrate at ambient room temps of 75-85F) or you can get more complex with a dry and a moist hide(use a sand substrate and mist the sand under one hide) and a basking light. One problem I often see with this setup is too short a cage to achieve a proper gradient. Make sure the cage is long enough with top ventilation. Keep the ambient temps at around 70F with a basking area of around 85 to start. One can always adjust temps later by watching were the snakes spend their time and adjusting accordingly. They will breed both spring and fall and give birth in July-Aug.
Thank you for the information.
