How much bigger....???

kdollva Nov 28, 2003 01:39 PM

My beardie is about 11.5 inches long and he's only 5 and a half months old. I heard that they normally get to be 16-20 inches when full grown. When will he be considered full grown and comparing his size to other male dragons....is he above average in his size for his age? Thanks!

my male dragon will be 5 months old in about a week and he's 13 inches and weighs 120 grams so yours is pretty much on track

that sounds about right for that age. He's a little cutie too. I think when i bought my dragon he was somewhere between 6-10 monthes old, and he was somewhere around 12-14" long.

I got mine about that age too and he was right around the same size so you're on track. I think you'll be amazed at how fast they grow at this age, mine is closing in on a year old now and is freaking huge! He's about 20 inches and 400 grams now. They are eating machines when they are little and seem to grow before your eyes. Thank god he has slowed down with the cooler weather, he was going through 200 crickets a week easy.

Yours is on track. I've noticed that different dragons have growth spurts at different times. Mine was about 8 inshes at 3 months and smaller than average. However, at 6 months, he's now over 16 inches. At this age, if you haven't, I'd start adding more veggies to his diet. All of mine loves collard greens and I've tried different greens as the staples only to have them reject it.

I definitly have had greens in his cage for awhile. He loves mint as a treat...but mostly we feed his collard greens and mustard greens. But he still loves his crickets! I held a full size female dragon at the pet store a week ago...and it was soo heavy! It really made me excited for Noodles to become an adult! He has grown so much, so fast! Everytime I see the babies at the pet stores it makes me miss how mine use to be so tiny.....but all babies have to grow up and we are so proud of ours!

PS. How do you delete pics you have saved on this site Thanks!

Here's some pics of mine that I took a couple hours ago. He's about a week shy of 5 months. I was off a bit in my first post because he's about 15 inches now.

I currently have two females that are 11.5 inches and 3 months old, but different beardeds grow at different rates, just like humans. BTW I go through 2,000 crickets every other week with them. Some days they will eat 200!
