HOW BIG DO AFRCAN FAT TAIL FEMALES HAVE TO BE BEFORE THEY CAN BREED??..MINE IS 6 1/2 INCEHS LONG AND ITS BOYFRIEND IS 8 INCHES...IF IT IS NOT READY TO BREED NOW WILL IT BE READY TO BREED BY THE END OF JULY?ITS WEIGHT IS FINE.

it should be atleast 40 grams, but 50 is better. it is possible to get it to breed by the end of july, just keep track of it's weight.

I had a female albino who was only 36 grams in with a male who I didnt think was big enough to do the deed but low and behold my female not only layed eggs but they were fertile.
Sometimes you just never know.
But it is best to fatten them up so they will be healthier before and after they lay there eggs.
