Hi,
I don't have any experience with the "diamond caiman". That said I would advise a dwarf over a diamond. In my opinion the jury is still out on the diamonds. They are, as I am sure you know, a cross between to species that are both larger than a dwarf and that to me indicates they will have a greater maximum length. I am aware that that their enthusiasts say that their maximum size is quite small but if I am correct they have only been sold for around 3-4 years. That isn't enough time to say what the ultimate size the will be. If I wanted to get a diamond caiman I would plan for a spec. size caiman and hope for smaller.
I've researched these guys for sometime now, and it's about that time for me to make a decision. I'm debating between the diamond caimen (bred by Diamond Reptiles) or the dwarf caimen (Paleosuchus palpebrosus).
I would really appreciate some feedback between the two...
Does anyone have experience with the two of them, and can recommend, which one makes a better "starter croc"?
Please, any feedback would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Peter F.
