Hi i am trying to make my uros live in totally natural enviroment. So i took out all of the sand and put in a foot of topsoil for the substrate. Since i have so many rocks and pieces of slate on the surface of my cage, and have two boxes which are resting/nesting chambers the adults really didn't dig that much in the dirt. They love running around on the dirt because their feet dont sink into the ground like it did when i had them on sand. Since the adults liked it so much i put my hatchlings with the adults just to see how they would interact. The hatchlings which normally dont get along were basking on the adults running around the cage, and all of them actually ate. When the lights went off one of them slept with the parents in one of the resting chambers, one slept under the big basking rock in a cave, and the last one dug a little hole under a surface rock. Just in case any of you are wondering, all of my rocks are safe for the uros to dig under. Anyway, since they are geting along so well i am going to leave them in the tank with their parents. I have two food dishes so the food is taken care of and since i have two basking spots i moved the basking light a few inches further from the basking spot so it is a little cooler for the hatchlings. So i see no reason why anything should go wronge. I am going to keep a close eye on the hatchlings just in case. I know some of you think the adults would kill the hatchlings but since there is such a big size difference they dont even notice the hatchlings. If anything happens i will let you guys know so you wont house hatchlings with adults, but so far everything is going good after a full 24 hours.
