separating live from dead mealworms...

I just got a shipment of 10,000 mealworms yesterday. They were delayed during shipping and at least half of them are now dead.
I want to try and save as many as I can rather than throw out the whole bunch.

I've been picking through them and frankly its a pain in the butt. I've also been leaving potato slices in and shaking the worms off every hour or so.

soo...
any tips and tricks to separating the useful feeders from the compost?
