MHD eye not open?

maneatingorchid Nov 28, 2003 08:26 PM

I'm new to MHD's, and I've got one, Aragorn, who has soemthing funky with his left eye. It won't open all the way. He's booked for a vet appointment soon, but I'd like to set myself up for what it could be. Temps in the tank are about 78 degrees with an 80 degree basking spot, and high humidity. He's sheddding right now, so I thought it might be a complication. He's eating calcium dusted crickets, and nightcrawlers and mealies. He's really calm, and he seems fine other than the eye.

Dont feed him crickets feed him worms they dont need to be dusted plus cheaper and they are high in calcium. try using a Q-tip with warm water and rub in the corners of his eye lightly rub. My mhd had eye problems but she opened her eye a week later. Good luck M&M

Thanks for the help. The eye opened when the piece of old skin aournd him eye came off. Crickets aren't a main dish, the worms are, they're the appetizer.
