WHAT DOES HYPO MEAN

When some one is speaking about lizards and morphs what does hypo mean

Hypo generally means "below" or "lacking." So if you are talking about a hypo leopard gecko, it would be refferring to a leo with very little spots, usually less than 10. Hypo can be used alone (such as in the beardie & leo species) or connected to a color or morph, such as hypoxanthic, meaning "low yellow color." The opposite is hyper.
