Housing 2 RETF with a young-un

chameleoncrow Nov 28, 2003 10:52 PM

Hi guys,

I am in prospects of housing two adult RETF with a young RETF. Is there a problem with this idea? Aside from the competition of food that the young one might face, is there any problem i should be concern with, such as the bigger frogs trying to eat the little one?

The bigger red eyes dont eat as much as they do when the are little. So the little guy won't have a problem

Thanks for your response. But i was more concern on the big frogs eating the small frog, and not the big ones eating the small frog's share of food. I read somewhere that RETF's are cannibalistic. So i was wondering if it is safe to put a baby frog with the big ones. What do you think?

It depends on the difference in size. If you mean baby as in no larger than an inch, then thats is definately a bad idea. But if the difference is more subtle, than don't worry about it. The general rule is that if it can fit into the other frogs mouth at all, than dont do it.
