The flash bleached out the color but she was screaming hot tonight and looked a bit redder than the photo.

Her sister is even darker red but does not have the bright red tail that she has. Here is her sister. Compare the color with the average color larger boa in the background.

Close up of sis. No picture adjustments made. She was burning tonight.

I don't know how the hell I missed it when Brian put it up. I wonder how it's gonna turn out as it matures? Is it developing that yellowish tint on back half of it's body?

I had no idea it would be like this. In fact when I got her she was pinker than normal but I did not pay much attention to it. She was small by my standards so I was just concerned about feeding her frequently to get her size up. With each feeding she turned more intensely colored as you would expect. I did not expect this though. I do not see the yellow your talking about. She is pretty much some shade of pink or red on the body with a dark rusty red tail. Her sister has a very red tail. This night when I walked by her and her sister they both freaked me out about how red they were. Conditions and shed cycle must have been just right. Most I have seen with this much color are wild caught though I think Brian produced some this year that will have extreme color also.

is pretty hard to describe and almost impossible to capture in a photo. It's really weird , babies that are solid red/brown go throug ha really weird change where others may develope the adult colors. It's almost like the red is so intense that it blends in to the typical canvas base color resulting in an yellow glow. I have seen quite a few imported animals with this color that were imported as sub aduls, with the exception of one animal. I sent a laddertail male to a friend in California, as a baby he was pretty much solid red (looked like he would be dark). As he matured and started developing his adult colors he too devloped that yellow glow. It's really hard to explain but I'm you'll know it when you see it. I bet both of those intense girls develope that sort of color. Below are photos of a 2001 FLR with it and also an imported animal (photo is not mine).

If you are talking about the dorsal yellow color, yes, the first one shown is already there but its tough to tell in the photo as I was trying to show her sides but she is disticntly turning yellow on top. Right now its more gold than yellow and they usually are gold vs yellow. If it actually becomes yellow that would be a plus. The one in your photo is spectacular. The other one you can tell from the straight down shot that she has not turned yet.
