Would a beardie thrash an acrylic?

BigFil Nov 29, 2003 01:40 AM

I was with my buddy getting fish at a local aquarium shop and saw an absolutely beautiful 100 gallon wide acrylic tank 48x26x19 with a hood and stand. It's a little pricey but my two BD's would love it, but what I was wondering if their little claws would scratch the hell out of it. Does anyone have any experience with a BD in an acrylic? If it would get thrashed it would be pointless to spend the $ on it , but I could probably have one made out of glass with those dimensions and just buy the stand and hood.

I use an acrylic tank, and my beardie doesn't scratch it. However, he is only 11".

the cage my dragon is housed in has acrylic side panels and part of the front, under the screen doors. I have not seen any scratches on it since I housed my dragon in it. I really don't think it would be a problem providing the enclosure is large enough for your two dragons. My dragon has been in her new cage since June of this year.
