Most coastal or Queensland carpets you can purchase through pet shops or other venders come from unknown origins and/or crosses. Honestly the lines between subspecies is very hazy. And the years of careless breeding have not helped the situation. What breeders are doing is trying to help build some lines of distinction once more. The ideals for Coastals are not what you look for in Jungles. So why cross them? In jungles the ideal is strong/clean/contrasting colors (white/yellow & black). In Coastals light colors are the most popular. In Irain Jayas the orange/yellow with black banding is what breeders seem to enjoy.
Perhaps the better question to ask is if the snake, you’re interested in will be bred in the future. Or if anyone has animals like the one you like available now or in the future. I’ll bet you that you can find as nice a hatchling (or even nicer) in a pure Coastal or pure Jungle line.
