Need some advice from powersun owners. The timer turns it on and it immediately comes on then turns back off. A few minutes later it will turn back on again, then turn off. A while later it will come back on and then stay on. It just started doing this a couple days ago. Is this normal or is it defective? By the way, it's in a 10 inch dome with a ceramic socket suspended above the cage by a lamp stand. Thanks!

MVB bulbs need a warm up period and when turned off a cool down time before it can be restarted. sounds like yours has a problem. It is shutting down and then has to wait to restart. contact your reseller or manufacturer for a replacement.

I ordered it from reptiledirect.com last week and I was reading in the zoomed booklet and it says I have to have my original receipt to return it to them...which I don't have. It also says not to return it to the place of purchase. Guess I'm screwed.

since it is brand new, many retailers would honor the warrenty. If not ask them to email you a copy of the order for your records so you can return it to zoo-med.

What wattage is it? I have an extra 100watt that I will give to you if that is the size you need. I just needed a 160watt, this one was only used for like 2 weeks, you can have it for free if you need it. I know in my booklet it said you have to return it directly to ZooMed for the warranty. Also, if you got it from reptiledirect.com, go to that website and look up you order history, then see if you can print the invoice from there, that should do fine to return it to ZooMed, did you fill out the warranty card? Let me know if you want my extra bulb, send me an email and address, and I will send it out to you. Krista

I have 3 powersun 100w bulbs. All 3 have at times cycled on and off. They seemed to work fine once they get lit and stay lit,,EXCEPT for one =(,,it now burns a yellowish color and at a lower heat than the other two, which burn white. The yellow one was burning hot and white until a week ago. i fear it is no longer activating the mercury lamp and therefore no UVB is being produced. If I had a UV meter, I could tell but I dont.

my new one from reptiledirect did the same thing at first, just leave it plugged in for a few hours and see if it rights itself
