Incubator question..... what kind??

alieliza Nov 29, 2003 12:25 PM

This is our first attempt at hatching eggs.... the eggs arent here yet but were about to get our hands on an incubator. We currently have one gravid female. We arent sure how far into the whole breeding thing we are going to get. There is a mini dome incubator on ebay and we were wondering if this would be suitable or not. We are also looking at the hova bators.
any input would be appreciated

There are at least 2 suppliers that sell hovabators on ebay. LLL reptile sells them too, as do several other herp suppliers. I've used the hovabator 1602 with good success. Now I have two of them so I can incubate for male & female at the same time ... earlier this year I only had one and had something like 35 males and only 3 females. Bah! Lol, I'd go for the hovabator. Its only about $39. Don't get the "turbo fan" model if you are incubating only leopard geckos. They cause humidity loss too quickly.

Remember to check shipping prices when you buy on eBay, as well as reading the feedback for the seller before you bid.

Best of luck and if your female is gravid now I'd get the hovabator asap.
