well after three days of my new cuban hiding and not eating i decided to take my rhino into the room to see what would happen. when bella (rhino) found him they investigated eachother warrily. and then went on there ways. i was sitting on the floor watching this. bella then came over to me and climbed up on my shoulder and i gave her a few head and crest scratches. almost immediatly the cuban decided it was safe to come out from his hiding place. he basked for a while and then when he saw bella eat some of the greens i had put out for him he ate some too. he came very close to me and sat there just looking at me then went on his way. i ofcourse did not try to touch him. i figure he will come to me in his own time.

Patience will pay off in the long run. Your Cuban is probably feeling a little overwhelmed having so much space. He'll soon learn to appreciate it and consider it his territory. Enjoy your new acquisition!

yeah especially since he was kept in such a small enclosure. he could barely move in that thing. he has been in it his hole life. another thing is they have been giving him alot of animal protein. i think thats probably why he is so much bigger than bella.
