Well, over a week ago I decided to not supplement my silkworms with a heat source and see if they would thrive at my room temp of 66-69 degrees F. They've done just fine. Haven't lost any and as a matter of fact, they're still growing at a phenomenal rate. Wideglide and I were concerned that the lower temp might mess with their digestion process, but it obviously hasn't been a concern. At least, I would think it would have caused a problem by now if it was going to.

So this is great news! I know one of my concerns when wanting to switch to silkies was the worry about keeping them above room temp. Doesn't seem to be an issue at this point.
