need info on cape zebra falso day geckos...

kcaiman Nov 29, 2003 03:58 PM

i saw these at a pet shop the other day and i was wondering... would they eat fruitflies and pinhead? also any other info you may know about them.. final growth length; are the bold or do they hide?; any info would be greatly apprieciated!

if all the requirments are about the same i was wondering if they'd be fine to but in a tank with dart frogs. of course it would be a large and heavily planted tank so they wouldn't come in contact much.

thanks!

I'm not familliar with that name....a scientific name would be nice but petshops rarely know them anyway. Maybe p. capediana? Standingi looks like a zebra....anyway not with dart frogs since you never know whether it is poisonous or not. Besides, dart frogs like it moist and cool while they like it not so moist and warmer. In any case, all species (with the exception of maybe the giant day geckos) that I have dealt with tend to be rather skittish so do not plan on holding them. They are not a holding genus.

i had no intention of hoolding them(also they'd be too small)

this petshop did a have a scientific name for it i don't know if its right or not but this is what they had... Lygodactylus luteopictu

thanks for responding

Hey, i think you mean Lygodactylus luteopicturatus.

Theyre not day geckos, and are called yellow headed dwarf geckos. (not to get them confused with P. klemmeri). They are very small (approximately 3-4" , eat fruit baby food and small crickets.

Good luck finding a caresheet,
M.N
