last year we pretty much slugged out, so it has been a real relief this year to see so many great babies : )

we have had three clutches so far of the Snow group. all parents are related, babies from our original Albino to Anery breeding, making them double hets. this is the third year for production from those adults. our first year we only had two clutches and just about 20 babies overall, but 5 SNOWS, which to me was REALLY bucking the odds! (technically, it should be 1 snow for every 16 babies : )

so for those interested in the type of breakdown these clutches can do:

1st clutch- 21 babies, 3 Snows, 4 Albinos, 4 Anerys, 10 commons (of course all are possible het for either Albino, Anery, or both)

2nd clutch- 16 babies, 1 Snow, 4 Anerys, 11 commons

3rd clutch- 27 babies, 1 Snow, 3 Albinos, 3 Anerys, and 20 commons

the best Snow clutch was certainly the first clutch, it just had the most happening overall.

we still have gravid boas now, due in a few weeks, so i will remain with my fingers crossed for now. we moved out a lot of Redtails, Argentines and other boa breeders last year, to get a tighter focus on the morph stuff, so numbers are down, but smiles are up : )

if there has been any "secret" to a solid boa year this year, it has been our new ultrasound machine. the insight that gives you is really valuable, it really helps nail the timing of the male and female pairings...

Good luck on all remaining gravid females, I hope you have good fortune with all of them as well. Later Randy T.
